Welcome to the Community
Learning and Literacy Center
The Community Learning and Literacy Center was designed to serve the needs of Cal State Fullerton graduate students and the community. Tutoring services will be provided for children ages 17-18, who are at least two years below grade level. In the future, the CLLC will offer programs and resources for children of all ages, adults, families, workers, as well as secondary and post-secondary institutions subscribing to a “life cycles” needs approach to learning and literacy.
The Community Learning and Literacy Center is a unique, community-driven project designed to meet a variety of educational needs. The specific need and goals for this center were derived from meetings with a community advisory board comprised of leaders from the business, educational, philanthropic and social services community within Orange County.
This “Community of Knowledge” concept functions as a non-profit organization and is envisioned as a welcoming, friendly educational agency which evidences, “Knowledge all over the place,” as determined by the Advisory Board. Ideally, the Center will maintain large areas for various types of trainings or seminars; community-accessible technology; quiet, private areas for tutoring, counseling and conferencing.
